Join the Summer Associates Program

The AmeriCorps VISTA Summer Associate program offers individuals the opportunity to become engaged in a community through an existing AmeriCorps VISTA project for 8, 9, or 10 weeks during the summer.

The Americana World Community Center –

Serve with our Americana Summer Youth Program Staff and take part in planning daily activities which serve youth K-12th grades during the Summer Program. Help to provide academic, social, and emotional enrichment opportunities that serve our primary population of refugee, immigrant and U.S. born youth learning English as a Second language (ESL) focused on summer learning loss prevention. The Backside Learning Center –

Join us and help organize and coordinate a summer reading program, providing support to volunteers who will meet with groups of students to work on different activities such as reading and math reinforcement. Summer Associates will also conduct home visits and work with students and families to identify and then organize all aspects of educational outings and access to community summer camps throughout the summer. The Food Literacy Project –

Help us propel the Food Literacy Project’s bold vision for youth in shaping our local community food system by serving as a leader within our Youth Community Agriculture Program (YCAP) and our Field-to- Fork Program. The VISTA Summer Associate will serve as a Youth Development Leader alongside our Program Manager and Farm-based Educators to implement farm-based education and transformational experiences for youth and teens on the farm and in our community. United Crescent Hill Ministries –

Serve with our United Learning Summer Camp program and help us focus on preventing learning loss among low-middle income youth during the duration of the camps. Work directly with UCHM staff, interns, and volunteers to provide supervision and enrichment activities to youth participating in the program. For more information contact
